What is a resignation letter?

What is a resignation letter used for?
The resignation letter is used by an employee or worker to let their superiors know that for various reasons they want to leave their job: it could be due to a negative work environment, disagreement with their salary or because they are trying to find a better job that meets their expectations.
It is used as a document that evidences the job resignation that the worker presents to the employer voluntarily. This can be used by any person who is an employee or worker and who intends to separate from their work safely and consciously.
If the letter of resignation is presented in an appropriate manner, no liability will be created for the worker or the employer, respecting of course the payment of the corresponding settlement as a result of termination of employment.
Maintain cordial worker-company relationship
This letter makes it possible to notify management of the decision to resign, without generating misunderstandings or friction, since it makes it easier for the institution or company to search from that moment on for the human resource required for the replacement.

How to write a resignation letter? Data to include
The resignation letter must be impeccably written. This means that it must be written with excellent syntax and spelling. This is because a letter of resignation is a formal document, being the good wording an indication of respect towards the interlocutor.
It should be concise and brief, avoiding giving unnecessary explanations that may cause you to lose the original objective.
It must be written in a formal style and in the first person, since it is considered a representative document. The ideal would be to have the resignation letter in an envelope, delivering it directly into the hands of the immediate superior. To present it, these most important characteristics must be taken into account.
Place and date
The following information must be specified in the upper right part: the place and date on which the letter is being written.
General information about the company
Indicate the person to whom the resignation letter is addressed, with their department or work area, ideally being the place where the employee carries out their work, also indicating that the letter has a copy addressed to the human resources department.
Body of the letter
It must be explicitly mentioned that the resignation is being done voluntarily, as well as the reason for this decision. In this part you can indicate that you are waiving for personal interests or reasons. In any case, be clear about the reasons why the decision to resign was made.
It is important to indicate the date when labor services will cease to be provided. Information related to the tasks that were assigned and that will be completed on the date the employment relationship ends could also be included.
It is highly recommended to end the body of the resignation letter by thanking the immediate bosses and/or managers for the opportunity given to work in the company that is being resigned.
Signature
Finally, the signature of the person who wrote the resignation letter must be included, which is the worker who terminates the employment relationship.
