How to Unlock the Computer with the Windows 10 Cell Phone | 2022 +

Windows 10 can be unlocked in many ways, but you probably did not imagine that you can use your cell phone.

Fingerprint sensors are included in virtually every smartphone on the market – unfortunately, the same cannot be said for PCs.

Android smartphones can use an app to act as a biometric reader for your Windows 10 PC. The method seems to work up to Windows Vista as well.

Requirement to Unlock Windows 10 with your Cell Phone

• A smartphone with a fingerprint reader running Android 5.0 Lollipop or later
• A PC running Windows (version 10 recommended) connected to the Internet

Note: This method is not supported on the iPhone.

How to unlock Windows 10 with the Cell Phone Fingerprint Reader

Follow the steps below:

Click here to install Remote Fingerprint Unlock (free) from Google Play Store on your smartphoneClick here to download and install Remote Fingerprint Unlock on your PCImportant: When prompted by the installer, please validate the Firewall exception required by the Remote Fingerprint Unlock.Lock your Windows session (Win + L or via start menu)Go to Remote Fingerprint Unlock on your smartphone and follow the instructions in the app to scan your fingerprint and generate unique keys.Then go to menu ≡ (top left) and tap «Scan» to add your PC.

Synchronize with your Computer

The PC module is only active when the session is locked. Make sure this is the case if the app doesn’t detect your PC. Also, for your PC to be detected, it is imperative that all your devices are on the same local network.

Tap your computer’s name then saveGo back to the top left ≡ menu then go to My AccountsYou should see your computer’s name on the screen – tap ADD ACCOUNT and then enter the credentials you normally use to unlock your computer.Scan your fingerprint and save Make sure the session ID number is the same on your smartphone and PC lock screen, and then tap PROCEED.

Now you can unlock your session through this application:
