2. Always clean the fuel stain by hand (using one of the tips below) before running the laundry through the machine.
Tip 1: Talcum powder
If the fuel stain is fresh, spray the cloth with talcum powder, let it sit for a few hours, then blow off the excess by blowing or shaking the cloth. Then machine wash the clothes.
On the other hand, if the gasoline stain is old, apply talcum powder and then place absorbent paper over the stained area before ironing it with a hot iron. Repeat the operation until the stain disappears completely.
Bonus tip: you can replace the talc with flour.
Tip 2: Ammonia
Be careful, this trick is not suitable for delicate fabrics!
Instructions for use: Soak a damp cloth with a few drops of ammonia and simply pat the gasoline-stained area. Rinse, then machine wash.
Tip 3: Lemon juice
Soak a clean cloth with lemon juice and gently pat the stain with gasoline. Then rinse and dry!
Tip 4: White vinegar against the smell of gasoline
Are your clothes impregnated with the bad smell of gasoline? Simply immerse the stained item in a container of vinegar water (½ cup of white vinegar to 2 liters of water), which will neutralize the odor. Then put the garment in the washing machine.
